District- Mansa, the land of White Gold

Mansa district is a district in the state of Punjab, India. The district headquarters is Mansa city. Mansa district was formed on 13 April 1992 from the erstwhile district of Bathinda. The district has three tehsils : Mansa, Budhlada, and Sardulgarh; and five development blocks: Mansa, Budhlada, Sardulgarh, Bhikhi, and Jhunir. Mansa is a small district both in terms of population and area. It is situated on the rail line between the Bathinda-Jind-Delhi section and also situated on Barnala-Sardulgarh-Sirsa Road.  Mansa is situated in the cotton belt of Punjab and is therefore fondly called the “ Area of white gold ”. Indeed agriculture forms the backbone of the district economy. The population is Punjabi-speaking and is wedded to the culture of the Malwa belt of Punjab. District- Barnala, the fastest growing district in Punjab

Barnala is the 20th district of the Indian state of Punjab. It is a well-known City in the center of the Malwa region. Barnala was declared a district in 19th November 2006 by partitioning the erstwhile Sangrur district.   Barnala is a small district both in terms of population and area. The district is surrounded by Ludhiana and Moga districts in the North, Sangrur district in the East, Mansa district in the South, and Bhatinda district in the Southwest. It has a diverse population supporting local industries and food businesses. The seat of Parliament is attached to Sangrur.  Barnala is situated in the heart of Punjab . Bathinda is known as one of the oldest cities of Punjab which is located in the Malwa Region of northwestern India. District- Amritsar, the Center of Sikhism

Amritsar is the largest and most important city in Punjab and is a major commercial, cultural, and transportation center. It is also the center of Sikhism and the site of the Sikhs' principal place of worship—the Harmandir Sahib, or Golden Temple . Amritsar was founded by Sri Guru Ramdas ji, the fourth guru of the Sikhs in about 1574 A.D. Before the city was founded, the area was covered with thick forests and had several lakes. To start the city the Guru invited 52 traders from different sectors belongings to nearby places like Patti and Kasur to settle here. These families started the first 32 shops in the city which still stand in the street called Batisi Hatta (32 shops). Sangrur  is a famous district of Punjab. It is believed that this district was established centuries ago. It is believed that a  rich Jatt named Sanghu founded  this district. Before independence, Sangrur was not a district in itself. Until the independence of India, Sangrur was part of the Jind state. The meaning of Punjab is the Land of five rivers -  Sutlej, Ravi, Beas, Chenab, and Jhelum  but after the partition, there are  only three rivers  in Punjab -  Sutlej, Ravi,  and  Beas . Punjab lies in the  northwestern  corner of the country .  Punjab shares its border with the Indian union territories of Jammu & Kashmir to the north, Chandigarh to the east, Himachal Pradesh to the north and northeast, Haryana to the south and southeast, and Rajasthan to the southwest. It touches an international border by Punjab, a province of Pakistan in the west.  The city of  Chandigarh  is the administrative capital   of Punjab.   Punjab is divided into Three regions according to flow of rivers. These are Majha, Malwa and Doaba. The region lying between Ravi and Beas is called Majha. Same as lying between Beas and Sutlej is called Doaba. The region lying in the South of Sutlej river is called Malwa. MAJHA Region- It means 'middle' or 'center', which historically is the name given to undivided Punjab before 1947. After the division in 1947, comprising only two districts- Amritsar and Gurdaspur . Tarn-tarn district was formed in 2006. It was carved out of Amritsar. Pathankot has been carved out from Gurdaspur and declared a district on July 2011. There is a confluence of Beas and Sutlej  at Herkie  in the Tarn-tarn district. DOABA Region-                                                           The word 'DOABA' itself defines its meaning.
