District- Barnala, the fastest growing district in Punjab

Barnala is the 20th district of the Indian state of Punjab. It is a well-known City in the center of the Malwa region. Barnala was declared a district in 19th November 2006 by partitioning the erstwhile Sangrur district.   Barnala is a small district both in terms of population and area. The district is surrounded by Ludhiana and Moga districts in the North, Sangrur district in the East, Mansa district in the South, and Bhatinda district in the Southwest. It has a diverse population supporting local industries and food businesses. The seat of Parliament is attached to Sangrur.  Barnala is situated in the heart of Punjab . Before upgrading the status of Barnala as a District, it was a part of the Sangrur district. District- Mohali, the emerging IT hub of India

Mohali district falls in the Malwa region of Punjab. Mohali district of Punjab is emerging as an IT hub in North India. There are many international-level companies in the Mohali district which are helping to make Mohali an emerging IT hub in India. Mohali district (three tehsils of Mohali, Dera Bassi, and Kharar) was the first part of Ropar (new name Rupnagar) and Patiala district, which was later recognized by the Punjab government as the 18th district. Three regions of Eastern Punjab- Majha, Malwa, Doaba

  Punjab is divided into Three regions according to flow of rivers. These are Majha, Malwa and Doaba. The region lying between Ravi and Beas is called Majha. Same as lying between Beas and Sutlej is called Doaba. The region lying in the South of Sutlej river is called Malwa. MAJHA Region- It means 'middle' or 'center', which historically is the name given to undivided Punjab before 1947. After the division in 1947, comprising only two districts- Amritsar and Gurdaspur . Tarn-tarn district was formed in 2006. It was carved out of Amritsar. Pathankot has been carved out from Gurdaspur and declared a district on July 2011.
